With Hypnotes’ Image to Text Converter, you can upload your hand-written notes to your client’s record in Hypnotes and our converter will convert them to text with the press of a button. For those with messier handwriting, you can review them for accuracy and save to the clinical notes for that client.

How do I upload, convert, and save hand-written notes to a client’s record?

Our Image-to-Text converter uses AI technology called Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to scan a document for text within digital images. This technology has been widely used since the 60s or 70s. One common example is the use of OCR by the USPS to sort mail by zip-codes, even those addresses that are hand-written. To use this feature, scan or take photos of your handwritten notes. Log-in to your dashboard and select ‘Clients’ from the left-side navigation menu. Select the client you want and click their name or the ‘View Details’ button. Click on the ‘Sessions’ tab and create or select the notes associated with that appointment. Scroll down until you see ‘Attachments’. Click the plus sign to add your scan or photo. Choose the appropriate file and click open. Once uploaded, click on the new document. A preview window will open showing your document on the left, with a window on the right. Click ‘Extract Text’ and our Optical Character Recognition (OCR) tool will show the extracted text on the right. From here, simply review and edit for accuracy. To SAVE this text click the ‘Copy’ button, close this window, and paste it into the appropriate session note section above. You can also share the converted text with your client directly from this window via and automatically sent email, or delete the file if you choose from this same window. To exit this window, click the ‘X’ in the upper right.
